The Sunbeam carries small sun motifs along a fine kamarbandh (waist chain), made for holiday and evening dressing. In gold-tone and white.
The Look
The suns sit flat along the chain rather than dangling, so the line stays clean and nothing catches on fabric. Gold-tone against warm evening light is where this one really comes into its own — a sun motif at sunset is exactly the right idea.
How to style it
- Crop top and a flowy skirt — on the hip, where the motifs catch the light as you move.
- Beach and resort dressing — over swimwear or a sarong.
- Sunset dinner or an evening out — gold-tone against warm light is where this belongs.
- Festive gatherings — at the natural waist over an Indo-western outfit.
- A plain outfit — so the repeating motif is the detail.
Product details
- Fine chain with small sun motifs set flat
- Alloy-based fashion jewellery with a protective plating
- Finish: gold-tone or white
- Weight: 46 gms
- Free size, and it fits all
Sizing and fit
Free size, and it fits all. The chain measures at least 42 inches, which sits comfortably at the natural waist or lower on the hip. If you would like it longer, tell us before your order ships and we can extend it to about 52 inches. To choose where it sits, measure around the exact point on your body where you want it to rest.
How to put it on
Fasten it around your waist or hip and let the motifs settle facing outward. Put it on last, after clothes, sunscreen and skincare.
Care
- Wipe with a soft dry cloth after wear.
- Keep away from perfume, lotion, sunscreen, hairspray and water.
- Keep it in the box it came in, laid flat.
- Last thing on, first thing off.
Plated fashion jewellery may change finish over time with wear, storage, moisture and skin chemistry. This is normal rather than a fault.
Do the sun motifs hang or sit flat?
They sit flat along the chain rather than dangling, which keeps the line clean and stops them catching on fabric.
What size is it? Will it fit me?
Free size, and it fits all. The chain measures at least 42 inches, so it sits comfortably at the waist or the hip. If you would like it longer, we can extend it to about 52 inches before it ships.
Can I get it in a longer length?
Yes. Email care@reevatara.com with your order number as soon as you have placed it, and as long as it has not shipped we can extend the chain to about 52 inches.
Gold-tone or white — which should I choose?
Gold-tone suits the motif beautifully, since a sun reads warm. White works if the rest of your jewellery is cool-toned or you wear a lot of black and navy.
Where should it sit?
Either position works. Lower on the hip with a skirt or swimwear; at the natural waist over an Indo-western outfit.
What is a kamarbandh?
The Indian name for a waist chain — jewellery worn around the waist or the hip. Traditionally worn over a saree, and today worn just as often over a skirt, swimwear or a dress.
Can I wear it over swimwear?
Yes, and it is one of the nicer beach pieces we make. Take it off before going into the water — chlorine, salt and sunscreen all shorten the life of a plated finish.
Is it heavy?
It weighs 46 gms — comfortable for a full evening or a day by the water.
What is it made of?
Alloy-based fashion jewellery with a protective plating, in a gold-tone or white finish.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
It is alloy-based fashion jewellery and suits most skin types. We have not had skin-reaction complaints on this range. If you have sensitive skin, wear it for a short period first.
