The Rhythm of Coins is a full cascade of antique-finish coins across a layered kamarbandh (waist chain) — one of the boldest pieces we make. In gold-tone and silver-tone.
The Look
Movement is the whole idea. The coins hang free and shift with every step, so the piece comes alive the moment you do — which is why it belongs at a sangeet or a garba more than anywhere else. Worn on the hip, the coins have room to fall and swing properly.
How to style it
- Lehenga at a sangeet or garba — the coins move with you, which is most of the point while dancing.
- Crop top and a flowy skirt — the classic way to wear a coin waist chain.
- Bikini set on holiday — over a plain suit, where the coinwork reads clearly.
- Wide-leg trousers and a bandeau — Indo-western fusion with a modern silhouette.
- A quiet neckline — let the waist carry the whole look.
Product details
- Cascading antique-finish coins on a layered chain
- Alloy-based fashion jewellery with a protective plating
- Finish: gold-tone or silver-tone, antique
- Weight: 130 gms
- Free size, and it fits all
Sizing and fit
Free size, and it fits all. The chain measures at least 42 inches, which sits comfortably at the natural waist or lower on the hip. If you would like it longer, tell us before your order ships and we can extend it to about 52 inches. To choose where it sits, measure around the exact point on your body where you want it to rest.
How to put it on
Fasten it around your hip, giving the coins room to hang below the waist, and let them settle on their own. Put it on last, after clothes, perfume and skincare.
Care
- Wipe with a soft dry cloth after wear.
- Keep away from perfume, lotion, hairspray and water.
- Keep it in the box it came in, so the coins cannot tangle the layers.
- Never polish an antique finish — polishing removes the aged surface that gives it its character.
An antique finish is meant to look aged and deepens further with wear. This is normal rather than a fault.
Is it comfortable for dancing at a garba or sangeet?
Yes, and that is where it comes into its own — the coins move with you. Wear it on the hip rather than tight at the waist so the weight sits comfortably over a long evening.
Do the coins make a sound?
A soft shimmer as you move, and it is deliberate. It is what makes the piece feel alive rather than static.
What size is it? Will it fit me?
Free size, and it fits all. The chain measures at least 42 inches, so it sits comfortably at the waist or the hip. If you would like it longer, we can extend it to about 52 inches before it ships.
Can I get it in a longer length?
Yes. Email care@reevatara.com with your order number as soon as you have placed it, and as long as it has not shipped we can extend the chain to about 52 inches.
Where should it sit?
On the hip, where the coins have room to fall and move freely.
Are the coins real currency?
No — they are decorative coin medallions, made to catch the light rather than to be spent.
Is it heavy?
It weighs 130 gms, and that weight is exactly what gives the coins their movement. Worn on the hip it sits comfortably through a long evening.
When is it best worn?
It suits sangeets, garbas, festivals and holidays particularly well — anywhere there is movement for the coins to catch.
What is a kamarbandh?
The Indian name for a waist chain — jewellery worn around the waist or the hip. Traditionally worn over a saree, and today worn just as often over a lehenga, a skirt or swimwear.
Should I polish it?
No. Polishing strips the aged surface. Wipe it with a dry cloth only.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
It is alloy-based fashion jewellery and suits most skin types. We have not had skin-reaction complaints on this range. If you have sensitive skin, wear it for a short period first.
