The Pearl Whisper Waist Chain is a fine gold-tone chain hung with small faux pearl drops — a delicate kamarbandh (waist chain) at 15 g, made for festive dressing.

Where it sits and how to wear it

A waist chain sits either at the natural waist, just above the hip bone, or lower on the hip. Pearl reads best at the natural waist over saree pleats, where the drops catch the light each time you move.

Put it on after you are dressed and let the chain settle rather than pulling it into position.

How to style it

  • Saree — at the natural waist over the pleats. The strongest way to wear this one.
  • Lehenga skirt with a plain blouse — festive without adding another traditional motif.
  • Co-ord set or a plain dress — worn over the outfit rather than under it.
  • Beach or resort dressing — light enough for a full day, over a sarong or swimwear.

Keep pearls at the waist or at the neck, not both. Two pearl pieces in one look read as a set rather than as styling.

Product details

  • Fine chain with small faux pearl drops
  • Alloy-based fashion jewellery with a protective plating
  • Finish: gold-tone
  • Weight: 15 g
  • Free size — the chain measures at least 42 inches, and can be extended to about 52 inches on request

Sizing and fit

This is a free size waist chain. The chain measures at least 42 inches, which sits comfortably at the natural waist or lower on the hip without adjustment. If you need it longer, tell us before your order ships and we can extend it up to about 52 inches. Measure around the exact point where you want it to rest rather than using your trouser size — the two rarely match.

Care

  • Wipe with a soft dry cloth after wear.
  • Keep away from perfume, lotion, hairspray and water.
  • Store flat and on its own so the chain cannot tangle.
  • Last thing on, first thing off — after clothes, perfume and skincare.

Faux pearls are especially sensitive to perfume and lotion. Plated fashion jewellery changes finish over time with wear, storage, moisture and skin chemistry. Both are normal rather than faults.

What size is it? Will it fit me?

The chain measures at least 42 inches, so it fits a wide range of waist and hip measurements without a size to choose. If you need it longer, tell us before your order ships and we can extend it up to about 52 inches. Measure around the exact point where you want it to rest rather than using your trouser size.

Can I get it in a longer length?

Yes. Email care@reevatara.com with your order number as soon as you have placed the order, and as long as it has not shipped we can extend the chain up to about 52 inches.

Are the pearls real?

No. They are faux pearls, and we would rather say so than let the photograph imply otherwise. They need the same care as the plating — no perfume, no lotion, no water.

What is a waist chain?

Jewellery worn around the waist or the hip, known in India as a kamarbandh. Traditionally worn over a saree; today worn just as often over a skirt, a co-ord set or a dress.

Is a waist chain the same as a kamarbandh?

They are the same thing. Kamarbandh usually describes the heavier traditional version worn with a saree or lehenga. This is the lightweight modern form — the same placement, a much finer chain.

Where should it sit?

At the natural waist for a saree or lehenga; lower on the hip for a dress or a co-ord. Decide the placement first and the length follows.

Is it heavy?

It weighs 15 g, light enough to wear through a full day or a long evening without adjusting it.

What is it made of?

Alloy-based fashion jewellery with a protective plating and faux pearls, in a gold-tone finish. Fashion jewellery, not fine jewellery — it is not gold.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

Alloy-based fashion jewellery. We have not had skin-reaction complaints on this range. If you have sensitive skin, wear it for a short period first.

Can I wear it to a wedding?

Yes — as a wedding guest it works well at the natural waist over a saree or a lehenga skirt. It is a fashion piece rather than a bridal one, so it suits the guest side of a wedding rather than the bride.

Will it tarnish?

All plated fashion jewellery changes finish over time — that is the nature of plating rather than a defect. Keep it away from perfume and water, wipe it after wear and store it dry.
