Free size, and it fits all. The chain measures at least 42 inches, which sits comfortably at the natural waist or lower on the hip. If you would like it longer, tell us before your order ships and we can extend it to about 52 inches. To choose where it sits, measure around the exact point on your body where you want it to rest rather than using your trouser size.

How to put it on

Fasten it around your waist or hip with the heart at the front, and let the chain settle rather than pulling it into position. Put it on last, after clothes, perfume and skincare.

Care

Wipe with a soft dry cloth after wear.
Keep away from perfume, lotion, hairspray and water.
Keep it in the box it came in, so the fine chain stays untangled.

The Indian name for a waist chain — jewellery worn around the waist or the hip. Traditionally worn over a saree, and today worn just as often over high-waist jeans, a skirt or a co-ord set.

Is a waist chain the same as a kamarbandh?

They are the same thing. Kamarbandh usually describes the heavier traditional version worn with a saree or lehenga; this is the lightweight modern form — the same placement, a much finer chain.

Where should a waist chain sit?

At the natural waist, just above the hip bone, or lower on the hip. Higher reads traditional and suits a saree; lower reads contemporary and suits denim. Decide the placement first and the length follows.

Can I wear it with a saree?

Yes, and it is one of the loveliest ways to wear one. At the natural waist over the pleats, it is a contemporary detail inside traditional dressing without competing with your other jewellery.
