The Ivory Bloom Body Chain has small floral accents in mother of pearl linked by fine gold-tone chains, running from the neckline down.

The Look

Mother of pearl has a soft, pale sheen rather than the sparkle of a crystal, so this reads gentle and natural where the rest of the range reads bright. It is the only piece we make with it. At 13 gms it is also among the lightest, which makes it easy to wear on an ordinary day as well as an occasion. Wear it facing forward, or turn it round so the flowers fall down your back.

How to style it

Plain crop top or a bodycon dress — a solid colour lets the flowers read.
Swimwear or resort wear — ivory and gold-tone suit sunlight particularly well.
Evening dress in a deep colour — pale flowers against navy, black or wine.
Worn backwards with an open-back dress — the flowers run down the spine.
Everyday over a plain top — at 13 gms it is light enough for regular wear.

Sizing and fit

This is a free size body chain suitable for all body types, with extra chain already attached.

How to put it on

Open both hooks — one on the neck chain, one on the waist chain.
Fasten the neck chain first, the same way you would a necklace.
Bring the waist chain around and fasten it behind you.
Let the flowers settle facing forward rather than pulling them into place.

To wear it as a back chain, put it on the same way with the flowers facing backwards. Put it on last, after clothes, perfume and skincare.

Care

Wipe with a soft dry cloth after wear.
Keep away from perfume, lotion, sunscreen, hairspray and water — mother of pearl marks more easily than metal.
Keep it in the box it came in, so the flowers are not knocked.
Last thing on, first thing off.

What is mother of pearl?

The iridescent inner lining of a shell. It has a soft, pale sheen rather than the sparkle of a crystal, which is why this piece reads gentle and natural. It is the only piece in our range that uses it.

How do I care for mother of pearl?

A little more gently than metal. It is porous, so keep it away from perfume, lotion, sunscreen and water, and wipe it with a dry cloth only.

Can it be worn as a back chain?

Yes. Put it on the same way with the flowers facing backwards and they run down your spine — two looks from one piece.

How do you put it on?

Open both hooks. Fasten the neck chain first, exactly like a necklace, then bring the waist chain around and fasten it behind you.

Is the waist hook difficult to fasten on my own?

Not at all — it sits at the back like a dress fastening, and most people manage it in a few seconds once they have worn it once.

My body chain is tangled. How do I fix it?

Unhook it first — that is the step that matters most. Then hang it up by the neck chain, from a hanger or a door hook, and let it hang freely. The weight of the chain does the work and the strands separate on their own. You can also put it on and let it untangle as it settles. Never pull the strands apart.

What size is it? Will it fit me?

It is free size and fits all body types, with extra chain already attached.

What should I wear it with?

Something solid. Mother of pearl is pale and soft, so it reads beautifully against a deep colour and gets lost against a busy print.

Is this a good first body chain?
