The Boho Coin is a layered kamarbandh (waist chain) hung with antique-tone coin medallions, with a folk-jewellery feel. In antique-gold and silver-tone.
The Look
The antique finish gives it warmth that a bright plating cannot — it reads like something found rather than bought, which is the whole appeal of coin jewellery. Worn on the hip, the coins swing as you walk and the piece comes alive with movement.
How to style it
- Indo-western skirt or a crop top — worn on the hip, where the coins swing as you walk.
- Over a saree — at the natural waist, reading as folk jewellery rather than bridal.
- Swimwear or a sarong — resort dressing, over a plain suit so the coins read.
- Music festivals and mehendi — the movement and the sound are most of the appeal.
- A quiet neckline — let the coins be the detail.

- Alloy-based fashion jewellery with a protective plating
- Finish: antique-gold or silver-tone
- Weight: 70 gms

Sizing and fit
Free size, and it fits all. The chain measures at least 42 inches, which sits comfortably at the natural waist or lower on the hip. If you would like it longer, tell us before your order ships and we can extend it to about 52 inches. To choose where it sits, measure around the exact point on your body where you want it to rest.
How to put it on
Fasten it around your hip, giving the coins room to hang, and let it find its own line. Put it on last, after clothes, sunscreen and skincare.
Care
- Wipe with a soft dry cloth after wear.
- Keep away from perfume, lotion, sunscreen, hairspray and water.
- Keep it in the box it came in, so the coins cannot tangle the chain.
- Never polish an antique finish — polishing removes the aged surface that gives it its character.
An antique finish is meant to look aged and deepens further with wear. This is normal rather than a fault.
What does antique finish mean?
The plating has been deliberately aged so it looks warm and worn rather than bright. It is a design choice, not tarnish, and it is what gives coin jewellery its character.
Should I polish it?
No. Polishing strips the aged surface and leaves it looking patchy. Wipe it with a dry cloth only.
Do the coins make a sound?
A soft shimmer as you walk, which is part of the appeal — it is what makes the piece feel alive rather than static.
What size is it? Will it fit me?
Free size, and it fits all. The chain measures at least 42 inches, so it sits comfortably at the waist or the hip. If you would like it longer, we can extend it to about 52 inches before it ships.
Can I get it in a longer length?
Yes. Email care@reevatara.com with your order number as soon as you have placed it, and as long as it has not shipped we can extend the chain to about 52 inches.
Where should it sit?
On the hip, where the coins have room to hang and move. Over a saree, the natural waist works beautifully too.
Can I wear it with a saree?
Yes. At the natural waist over the pleats it reads as folk jewellery rather than bridal, which suits a mehendi or a festive daytime event.
Are the coins real currency?
No — they are decorative coin medallions, made to catch the light rather than to be spent.
Is it heavy?
It weighs 70 gms, and that weight is what makes the coins hang and move properly. Worn on the hip it sits comfortably through a day.
Can I wear it over swimwear?
Yes. Take it off before going into the water — chlorine, salt and sunscreen all shorten the life of a plated finish.
What is a kamarbandh?
The Indian name for a waist chain — jewellery worn around the waist or the hip. Traditionally worn over a saree, and today worn just as often over a skirt, denim or swimwear.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
It is alloy-based fashion jewellery and suits most skin types. We have not had skin-reaction complaints on this range. If you have sensitive skin, wear it for a short period first.
